Composer, arranger and programmer


Karena plays guitars, keyboards, recorders and flute and random percussion objects.

She lives in Bangalow in Northern NSW ( near Byron Bay)  and presents a radio program every week on Bay FM 99.9 concentrating on music and the visual and performing arts.  

In 2000  started composing using loops and samples mixed with live input and produced first album ‘Ethnotechno’. A year later all these tracks and a few more were accepted by Pump Audio in New York and to date have been used in over 1000 placements on television in the US, UK and Asia  by clients such as The Discovery Channel, PBS, The Oprah Winfrey Show, HGTV, National Geographic, MTV and more. 

Being on the web also brought her collaborations with other artists  producing the album ’Life in the Barrens’ with Mike Mosczulewski  (Wisconsin, USA) and Stephen Russel (Bristol UK)..

In between she has produced 3 other albums ‘ Trance Tales’, ‘com.passion ‘and ‘Atmospheres.’  


In 2010 Karena started working with fellow composer and classical musican Ken Naughton.

They met weekly to write and play together and this grew into 'co.polymer' after they were asked to perform at a Sound Crucible concert. 

They have several pieces with visuals  composed under this name : Hold to Me, Why Robots Make Good Lovers, and The Sound of Concrete, Tent of MIracles and now "The Ice Suite".


Co.Sonance is the new band name that has come with the project

Cye began studying classical violin at the age of three. He joined his first band when he was eleven and has been involved in numerous bands and recording projects since then

Over the years Cye has performed at a wide variety of venues and festivals including Bellingen Global Carnival, Sydney Festival, Woodford, Byron Bluesfest, Mullum Festival and Parihaka(NZ). He has also contributed solo violin and string arrangements to various documentaries and feature films and has had the pleasure of working with a diverse range of artists including Jesse Younan, Yeshe, The Bird, Jimmy Little, Lisa Gerrard, Tim Finn, Christine Anu and Eartha Kitt.

When composing and recording Cye works with a wide variety of instruments including violin, piano, harmonium, viola, cello, bass, guitar, cittern, voice, percussion and basically anything that the work requires including field recordings, prepared piano and various subtle experimental techniques.

Cye has two CD's released on his own site - -Arraya ( four compositions) and his latest CD which is the soundtrack he wrote with film composer Lisa Gerrard ( formerly of Dead Can Dance) for the ABC documentary 'On the Trail of Genghis Khan'

Grayson Cooke is an interdisciplinary scholar and media artist, Senior Lecturer in the School of Arts and Social Sciences at Southern Cross University, and Course Co-ordinator of the Bachelor of Media degree.

Grayson has exhibited works of new media and photography in Australia and Canada, he has performed live audio-visual works in Australia, New Zealand, Italy and the UK. and he has published academic articles in numerous print and online journals. He is also associate editor for the on-line peer-reviewed journal 'Transformations'.


Grayson holds an interdisciplinary Phd. from Concordia University in Montreal.
